Warning; Reading the following article can cause the wild uncontrollable desire to include the seemingly unassuming innocent Lily into your life. The Lily however can make you or break you. So read on at your own risk.

An energy medicine healer with decades of successful practice, a man who travelled the world as part of his day job (representative of a Japanese Car manufacturer), was an expert at smelling out the influence of flowers and trees in a person's energy field. He'd travelled everywhere and could find out a person's genetic build, through the influence of flowers and trees in their energy field.

My teacher took me to meet him during a time in my teenage years when I was not quite sure I wanted to continue learning energy medicine. I couldn't picture my treatments made of pretty flowers, green leaves and strong living trees, meeting the very difficult horrific sights and smells of hospitals, accident victims, and people in pain.

The second the Japanese energy healer saw me he described my energy field like a master chef describes a culinary achievement. "Ahhh. Guava and Coconut, Lilies, Pink Roses, Dark Black Earth - sea breeze and mountain pine, with a sprinkling of purple balsam for excitement - am I right?" He was! He went right on to describe my genetic and inherited tendencies, my current physical and emotional being and then went right on ahead to predict the path I would take in the future - because as he said, "the flowers of many different weathers are appearing in your body".

He explained to me (with many more compelling demonstrations), that every time we allow ourselves to be influenced by a strong natural energy - like those of flowers, trees, rivers and certain physical places, they leave their energy pattern in our energy field gently influencing how our energy fields function and perform over the years. We are quite literally made of the things we love.

You cannot love a flower and not be affected by it - as small or passing as it may seem! It just takes some time to show its effect.

This is why we must never pass by a Lily as being 'just a flower'.

The Lily has the ability to break down an energy field - blow it into smithereens and end its 'built-up' or habit induced patterns. This is why you won't find it very popular with aromatherapy practitioners. Some love struck young men have given lilies to women only to find their developing relationship suddenly broken down under the glare of true intentions being revealed. Some well meaning Christians have taken these to church and discovered suddenly that all was not as it seemed in their lives. Some highly developed intellectuals 'studying' the Lily, have found their ego shattered, their powerful public image an empty shell and have had to go into isolation to re-build themselves.

This is why the energy field of Lily has been revered more from afar than near.

To Catholics, the Lily is a representation of Mother Mary, pure white and beautiful beyond description.

In the field of energy medicine I am trained in, the Lily along with its energy-wise polar opposite or complement - the Hibiscus - is called 'Mahakali'. Mahakali is the name of the Divine Mother, a form of female energy (energy that is moving) that is the Chaos that gives birth to all creation, maintains it and destroys it regularly to keep it true. It is pure energy in its most vibrant uncontrollable form.

It is also the highest level of purity there is. In its light, every little aberration or departure from nature or instinct shows glaringly. Under its influence, energy fields develop true to nature and stop being able to retain tendencies towards self-suppression, self - deceit or self manipulation. Nothing but the purest truth can be tolerated now.

The Lily is all of this and influences us to be the same. It makes us see our own self in truth and change our own self, so we like our selves more. It shatters phantom or false images we have of ourselves. Its purity gives us such a high level of emotional intelligence that we begin to see through the pretences on which many of our lives' draining habits, friendships and relationships are based.

It breaks down the energy field's accumulated habits so we start living according to our own nature rather than being forced by habit or circumstance.

The energy field of Lily is a great opportunity to start over. Only a mother could love you that much - to break you down mercilessly and build you once again in truth; to accept nothing but your highest self and purest being no matter who or what that is.

The beautiful fragrance of Lilies is not the smell of calm or quiet. It is the beginning of the end of one cycle and the begining of a new one. It is the smell of death and the smell of life in the same second, the sound of the battle trumpet and the early morning song of birds at the same time. You see lilies at funerals and lilies at Easter time with easter eggs and all things symbolizing new life. For this reason, it is the smell of Eternity, Hope and Peace beyond and inspite of all conflict.

It is also the symbol of timeless rejuvenation and un-ending healing and healing again and again.



I warned you that you would want the Lily in your life if you read this article. Who wouldn't! But remember that inviting the Lily into your life means that every part of your energy field will be broken down and re-made and this means you will be on wild Mother Nature's surgery table - without anasthesia - for a few months atleast.

It might make you feel vulnerable as a 'candle in the wind', broken and driven to tears easily, wondering if you've spent all your life doing nothing at all. It might make you take criticism to heart and cry yourself to sleep because of a little comment a passing stranger made. And then you will wake up one morning feeling fresh as a lily and pure as the driven snow and strong as the raging wind, ready to start anew.

In its energy field form, the Lily works best when taken over a few months for a complete life change.

In small doses for symptomatic treatment, it helps get rid of stale emotions, see through complicated situations and conditions and release anger, sexual frustration, and exhume buried emotion. In offices it helps get a break through from long un ending discussions and negotiation. In relationships or business negotiation between warring parties it brings a conclusion and the opportunity to tell each other the truth - part ways or lay the foundation for a new start.

For a gentle energy field capture of Lily,you need the fresh or dried flower petals. You pour boiling water over about a table spoonful of these and count to 10. Now have the steam rising up condense on a spoon of silver or hardened glass. See the picture to the right for a simple home method. Even just a few drops on the spoon (or in the bowl) will charge about 100 ml of pure water. This will keep for 3 days refridgerated and 7 days frozen.
