The Pancreas is a sort of factory which produces two very important products;
1) Pancreatic Juice - which helps break down starches, proteins and fats so that food can be digested
2) Insulin - a hormone which helps maintain sugar and energy levels in the body

You can imagine how much work the cells or workers of this factory do. They are constantly receiving information on what the body is eating and drinking (and breathing in) and they are constantly working to produce the right amounts of Pancreatic Juice and hormones like Insulin.

These are around the heart, spinal cord and blood vessels in general.
