How to get off Prescription Drugs Holistically

Its been a hard week. MJ passed away with a heart attack, bringing the matter of drug abuse once more into the limelight. How much do people actually know about the pills they are taking? And since when have humans required so much effort to keep waking up and moving and sleeping and eating? Isn't that something that we should be able to do naturally?

When Heath Ledger died of a cocktail mix of drugs we called it accidental. In the months following we realized that what is happening every day all over the world now is the same thing, except since most people are not Heath or MJ, it goes unreported. Most deaths now attributed to 'Cardiac Failure' or some more superficial problem are actually directly or indirectly caused by drug abuse.

So how do drugs cause heart attacks? Its very simple really. Drugs affect the nervous system, causing its frequency to go up (party drugs for example) or go down (sedatives, most painkillers). Some other drugs cause similar effects on the nervous system, by forcing the body to release hormones. Either way, the heart has to keep step with the nervous system. The heart-beat is in rhythm with the nervous system, beating faster - ie- pumping blood faster or slower. There is only that much faster or slower the heart can go, and when pushed beyond, it struggles and then just stops. If the person is not revived quickly enough, the brain stops too - because it requires an almost constant supply of blood (with its glucose) from the heart, to work.

The most common form of drug abuse is medication.

There is a time and place for everything, and pills have their place in the scheme of things. But every adult needs to use his or her own common-sense when it comes to drugs. Doctors are part of a system, and need to follow the rules set down by that system. They look at your symptoms and make a diagnosis. Then they prescribe the standard treatment for that ailment. Its You who has to take responsibility from there on.

If you are using drugs to help you perform basic life-tasks like digestion, walking, sleeping etc.; you need to realize that the drugs are only meant to be temporary help. If you have been on them for more than a few weeks post whatever illness or incident caused you to need them, chances are you are getting addicted. You are also messing with your endocrine system and the more you do that, the longer it will take to come back to normal.

If you don't want to spend a life-time popping pills, going in and out of hospitals, and being unable to simply live free, its time to wean yourself off external help. The following tips will help do just that.

How to get off Prescription Drugs the holistic way;

1) Maintain a diary
Write down every day which pills you took and how you felt after taking them. Once a week have a look through the previous week's entries. You'll begin to see how exactly the drug/s are working on you. Now you'll also be able to realize exactly why you take them. For example - an entry in Kenny's diary went (modified to remove language most people might not like);

I cannot tolerate that man in the house again. Every time he comes around my Mom goes ballistic and behaves like a ..... My head has started ringing again and after I took my pills the ringing didn't stop like it used to. Made me angry because its like I either take the anti-depressants or the energy drinks and they don't work together, not for me. I'm grateful for them, I wish they had a pill to change angry feelings to other feelings - just so I wouldn't feel like breaking a few things around here.

Kenny realized the next week while he was reading his diary, that what he really wanted was something to take his anger away. He got down to doing something about that - got some advice from some friends - and doesn't need medication for anything anymore. The 'ringing' in his head, which the doctors had been unable to find cause for, stopped.

2) Wash your sins away
Now that sounds so dramatic, but its a serious matter really. You see, 90% of people who require medication for nervous system or psychiatric causes say they feel guilt deep inside. Most people don't know what they're guilty about really, and some even say, "I feel guilty for even being born". I'm no psychologist so I cannot tell you why or how this underlying guilt complex develops in us. All I know is that there are these different 'consciousness' in the world, one of which is the guilt consciousness. Now a 'consciousness' is nothing but a pattern of energy field flow. When we meet and interact with people, our energy field interacts with theirs and just how two dancers who meet on the dance floor start dancing to the same beat together, our energy fields 'catch on to the rhythm' of other people around us. I have found this phenomenon to be responsible for many people's depression, low self esteem, confusion and so on. As soon as they stop hanging out with those who make them feel the underlying guilt, they become new people. Its hard, but you either stop interacting with those who cause feelings of guilt within you deep down (and they might be completely unaware of it) or you share healing with them so you all heal together.

Getting out of the Guilt Consciousness is easy. You simply realize that you're not guilty. Its like switching the television channel. If you really are guilty about something, make amends for it, do what you can, or go somewhere you can be alone with God, your soul, and say, "I'm sorry. Please forgive me, I want to move on."

My teacher once said to me,"Forgiveness is giving yourself permission to move on."

There are other consciousness that stop people from living free of drugs. These are the Pain consciousness - held by whole groups of people who were abused or treated badly in the past - who still vibrate to those memories. There are the 'We will always be poor' consciousness, the 'We are always wrong' consciousness, the 'We are ugly people' consciousness and so on.

We are what we are on our own, and its time to choose to be who you are on your own. What is your own consciousness like? Who are YOU really? Minus all the family inputs, and the educational labels, and the society branding... Are you going to spend your whole life being something other people call you?

Switch out of other consciousness, let your own emanate. Your body will follow it into all beauty, well-being and success. Try it and see.

3) Learn to breathe right.
This one is so easy. You simply set out a time every day and practice breathing right. This means you sit or lie down with your back straight and breathe in slow and deep. You hold the breath in for as long as you can and then breathe out slowly. Then hold your breath out for as long as possible. You realize its all about making slow breathing a habit.

When we breathe right, our lungs get filled. This keeps them in working order to start with. Then, the more air we hold in, the more oxygen our blood gets. The more oxygen blood gives the cells, the more they work - and our cells working means our body is working. Recovery from just about ANY illness comes as a side-effect of cells beginning to work well again.

When we breathe slowly and rhythmically, the nervous system calms down. This means energy begins to stop getting used up all by the brain and heart and lungs, and starts moving towards the muscles, skin, hair, bones, teeth and endocrine organs. The fair spread of energy through the body means recovery again. You'll get so active and energetic in life, you'll forget you ever needed pills.

4) Treat your Energy Field
Now, you don't need to see or feel your energy field to treat it. You simply understand that the visible body is held within it like an egg holds the yolk within. Now before someone actually touches you, you feel them. Before you smell or touch a rose, it makes you feel different. You simply become aware of your energy field.

You also realize that the center of your energy is not your head. Your head just manages energy in the body. The center or source of your energy is not food or drink or even thought or feeling. Its a primal urge that originates in the center of your abdomen, your center of gravity.

If you stand in front of a full length mirror and imagine someone drawing a circle fitting you in, the part of you that would be the center of the circle, is the center of your energy field, and the source of your energy. Being aware of this center is being aware of You are you are beneath all the personalities life has made you put on, the You as you are born, given birth to by God, without defect.

Your awareness of your energy source means you can now at will get energy whenever you really want to. It also means you'll act whenever you feel like, rather than hold yourself back or give up.

5) Learn to say No, and Learn to say Yes
This is a fun thing to do. Start saying YES to anything you really want to do but which you held yourself back from.

My cousin stopped going out with friends when she put on weight as a result of steroids to control depression. At the time no one knew what she was going through - she was suffering silently, putting on a cheerful face for the rest of the family who were all in one crisis or the other. Half way through university she hit rock bottom when she failed her exams. She decided to change her life during the holidays and did it too. As fat as she was, she decided to come trekking with the rest of us cousins, got lost in the mountains and waded through elephant poop and muddy water to get back to civilization. We could hardly believe it was her. She didn't lose weight drastically that year, but she did win the battle against depression. She then went to New Zealand for a course (is this the same girl who wouldn't come out of her bedroom?). Now she's among the most beautiful healthy women I know and she did it just by beginning to say Yes to life.

About saying 'No'; sometimes it just has to be done. You just say NO to medication you could do without. Be brave, face your fears and your sadness and your pain. Face it till it runs from you, not you from it. You courage will reward you. Say NO. And every single time matters. Every time you take a drug, your system has the same experience as that of mild lightning. How many times do you want your body to be hit by lightning? Are you really that desperate? No, you aren't. So just say NO.

[Note: If you have years and years of medication history and medical complications, and you feel you need more help, we can prepare a prescription energy treatment to repair and balance your energy field.]
